The SI-9 can hold times from up to 50 regular controls.   It is suitable for recreational orienteers and many age group competitors in forest events.  Having more storage for controls (50 instead of 30) than the SI-8 it is suitable for adventure racing and rogaines.

The SIAC (SI Air+ touchless timing chip) is the newest and fastest timing chip available. See below for details of the touchless system.
