The O-Store developed the O-Lock system as an answer to our local club's need to secure controls against vandalism at some of our event locations and to get away from one-use plastic cable ties.
Each O-Lock includes a cable that fits through the base holes of the BSF8 or BSF9, is long enough to go around a tree or post, and can lock in place with the special locking mechanism included. The cables are multi-stranded and thus very difficult to cut with regular wire cutters. You can purchase them in 75 cm and/or 125 cm lengths - the shorter lengths for posts, the longer for trees, larger objects, or posts a bit further from the control itself.
The O-Lock set comes with special keys to unlock the locking mechanism.
Have a look at our videos where we demonstrate the use of the O-Lock system.
If you are using BSF7 controls, there are no holes in the base, but it works well to drill a small hole on the rim at the centre of the long side. See the photos for an example.
Please note that it is highly recommended that the cable does NOT feed through the hole for inserting the finger stick in the BSF7 and BSF8. This will cause electrical interference and may affect the data transfer between control and timing chip.
